Prize giving

Hydra Lernaean Υδρέα
And also, the Closing Ceremony and Prize-giving Ceremony is after the Cheerleading competition... so stay on especially those that have medals to collect...
AND I urge all the Sports Captains to be around to collect yr medals with yr team if possible because there's a Group Photo session as well...
If however the Sports Captains can't make it, anyone from the team can collect on behalf as well...
The events for the Prize-giving Ceremony will start in Alphabetical order; which means the medals will be given out starting with B-asketball and ending with V-olleyball.
***Cheerleading is scheduled to start at 7:30pm but be there early because it will be a full house on every floors (1st to 3rd), and it's first go first look...
***Nobody is allowed on the Ground Floor during Cheer except for the Cheerleaders. The main sliding door will be locked at 7pm. However, everybody will be allowed down after the Cheer competition...
Thankyou ~ 23

THIS IS IT...
IMU Cup, sadly, will be ending tonight.
The last and final competition for IMU Cup 2011...
[CHEERLEADING]
This is probably the most strenuous (cuts & bruises), effort-inserted, stressful, injurious sport that the participants are involved in. All the practices, hours of midnight oil burnt in fire, will come down to just 2.5 minutes.
I would like to HUGELY thank the whole Team of Cheerleaders for really working hardhardhard, and committing themselves to such an event for lenghty period of time and long period of hours.
Especially to our ever superbly determined and hardcore working Cheer Captain & Hydra Vice Captain Amelia Yeoh for mapping out the whole Cheer routine, for dedicating her life, time and health to Cheer (not kidding yo!)...
ALL THE BEST to the Hydra Cheerleading Team (consisting of 23 Hydraians)!
No pressure, just do your very best tonight and HYDRA will stand by all of you no matter the outcome... the main thing is to HAVE FUN!!!
Experience the moment, and live every minute of it (the minutes aren't many)... because for some people, this will be your last IMU Cup and probably last IMU Cheer participation...
And our standings in the IMU Cup will be determined accurately tonight, and whatever position we get, we shall accept it with Pride and Honour/Honor, as we've been doing for every sport that we participate in over the course of these 2 long months...
We're all in this together, we have fun together, we team-work together, we bond together, we haha-hehe-huhu (depends which laughter is selected at the given moment in time) together and we take on Robot-boxers together...
"Hydra We Fight, Hydra We Fight, Hydra We Fight... H-Y-D-R-A!
Go HYDRA we say... V-I-C-TO-RY... Come on Hydra!
fight, Fight, FIGHT!!!
Hail HYDRA!!23!!"
Let's fight for one last time in the year 2-0-1-1;

[Track and Field] - 3
" v'Dayum!!! "
A hot day at UPM, a human-packed Track and Field day that saw runners and long jumpers and volunteers perspired with a bright touch of sun-burning on the superficial surface of the skin.
A HUMOUNGOUS Thankyou goes out to the volunteers that day, Maisarah Amran, Rachel Chung, Stefanie Chen Woi Sean, Yean May and 2 external sources of assistance; Nyin Hui aka Keps and Jennyfer Soo.
And a small appreciation for a volunteer who agreed and almost came... but couldn’t due to Subconscious Responsibilities that might involve being involved in a Dream within a Dream; Preman Silvaraju
Congratulations to the TEAM, you all really showed true fighting spirit...
Sze Ling and Yao Jie as mentioned before fought through injuries,
Keng Yuen ran perseveringly even with an increasing lactic acid build-up in the leg compartments,
AND Alex Yu ... sigh haha just kidding, I mean Alex, who took his time to help Hydra to run and long jump (barefooted somemore, eww microorganisms)... we really appreaciate yr time and effort (don’t worry about what happened haha :P)
AND Last but not even close to the Least, a Round of Applause to our Track and Field Captains *clap* *clap*;
Pui Mun better known to other houses as ‘The Machine’ or ‘Bionic Woman’ and
Joseph Cheah Ern Yao who is also known as to his esteemed peers and collegues as Jozie/Josephine/Joselyn/Bunny Cheah/Yao Yao/Still-got-somemore-but-nvm
WHO took their time to arrange practices, who trained the team with organized regimens AND drove the team on the Day itself...
Although overall we got 4th, but Hydra Track and Field team showed Strength, Determination, Courage and Fearlessness (somehow)... yea like seriously they did!
And that's Priceless, MasterCard®...
It was Awesome stuff, the Team in combined form could even possibly match
The Avengers team!
Like Sandra Jean Lee once wrote... “It’s not about the Medals, It’s about the Spirit :)”
It can’t get any Truthier than that -

Bowling update

Hydra Lernaean Υδρέα
"Super Close"
... is the word to describe the product of the Bowling swing... 4th placing was the end result BUT the Team was an inch away from overcoming the 3rd placed overall score...
Aiks, but they tried their level BEST and played hard til the end...
Really appreciate all of your time playing, especially for practices even though it was individual-based...
Thankyou 23 much to the Team of Bowlers; Eng Yew Lim, Amelia Yeoh and our Bowling Captain ---> Wason Tai !

We lost to Griffin in the semi-finals but took charge of the 3rd and 4th placing against Pegasus, and relished an awesome 3rd placing!
HIStory-making day as our Darts Captain Jonathan Samuel Easaw won a game with a bull's eye, and A BIG THANKYOU to the team of players who showed composure, love(kissing the Darts before shooting) and powerful optimism throughout the day. Very little Parkinson's disease was displayed and that's just so Kung Fu Panda! -

Wow... where do I begin?
"Let's wind the clocks back a year... these Cops and Lawyers wouldn't dare cross any of you... I mean what happened?"
O kay, what a weekend (15th - 16th October 2011) it has been for Hydra for the IMU Cup, and basically what a week as well (trainings, injurious moments, travel to practice).
Words can't describe the intensity of joy and determination that was seen throughout the weekend, but thankfully, the English language still has vocabulatory words left for me to use.
But since our Greatful Hydraians have reported and provided Words of Appreciation, I shall keep my Sportscenter round-up brief and divided in the opposite direction (Darts, Bowling, Track & Field)

Lub-dub, lub-dub, lub-dub, lub-dub... heart pump piercing attemptively through all the layers of the skin...
That was exactly how all the Hydra Football/Soccer(USA) players felt when the match went into a Penalty Shoot-out to decide the fate of the Finalists for Futbol...
The end was near in sight... as Keen Wai saved the penalty which clinched the victory that saw the Mighty Hydra in their first ever FIFA IMU Cup final and + and + and ...
EUPHORIA hit all the players immediately...
Congratulations to the players who worked their Gluteus 3Ms in the match and crucially scratched abundant slices of their untapped potential as a team at the opportune moment...
The Grand Finale, to be held this Saturday, against the undefeated Griffin will be a super touch match but nothing is UNACHIEVABLE especially when the Hydra Football Team has the belief, will and determination to go all the way!
A heartfelt Jack Sparrowish Thankyou & appreciation goes out to Joanne Chiew for the presence & support, & Sze Ling for the Sunway-born cooler box filled with drinks which really helped Revive-d the players into a hydrated state of mind : )
All in all, to ALL the players -
Don't rest on your laurels just yet... because regardless of the outcome on the 8th of October 2011, we have a mission to complete, and who knows it might just surpass Mission: Impossible IV - Ghost Protocol ~

7.45 am to 8.00 am is the meet-up time
Though we lost against Draco today 0-2, we managed to top the group and make it into semi-finals.
Though we were not quite ourselves today, but tomorrow is another day. And I truly believe we can nail it to the finals this time...
But as our Senior Public Relation Officer Preman Silvaraju pointed out this morning that we, as individuals, have unique football capabilities, but just crucially lack a Brylcreem-like substance to gel us together as a team.
It doesn't really matter whether we have skills, whether we are talented...the main thing is that we stick together and keep our team spirit alive more than anything else.
Rise together and fall together...like the Mighty Ducks!
"What the mind of a man can conceive and believe, it can achieve"
We just have to believe in ourselves (at the areas of the posterior lateral left a bit of the breastbone and celphalad), and do our level best at the given moment-

Debate semis was held earlier today among 4 teams to battle it out for the last spot in the Final Round. As Pegasus withdrew, the positions in semis was offered to Hydra Team 2.
In an unexpected turn of events, Hydra Team 2 beat Draco Team 1 and Team 2, and Taurus.
Congratulations to Ng Xi Jing and Vijay.
Right now, 2 out of 4 teams that made it into FINALS are Hydraians.
Go Hydra!

A good start to the IMU Copa de La Liga for Futbol!
Good job lads...we have got tonnes to improve on and we MUST not be complacent at this point as nothing is guaranteed.
As Amir Nazri reported earlier in the Hydra Headquarters under our Youth Affairs and Sports Department...
[Hydra 4 -1 Taurus] - FT (full time)
But we are facing a possibly strong Draco team this Saturday (1/10), 8am.
Rest well, and we have to start Skating on the Ice real soon if we are able to maintain and/or improve our 'Joga Bonito' (Beautiful Play) ~

Tennis!!
Thank you Jonathan Easaw, Alex Yu, Adam Tay, Stefanie Chen, Chen Woi Sean, Chankyung, and our fearless captain Yusri for training and playing so hard over the past few days. :) Thanks to also Renu, Adrian Chew and Maisarah Amran for coming to support on the first day.
Group stages: we beat Taurus by 3-0 but lost to Phoenix 3-0. Made it into semis.
Semis vs Griffin: After a hard fight, we suffered an agonisingly narrow defeat of 2-3. We were supposed to meet Pegasus in the 3rd-4th placing but one of the two Pegasus girls twisted an ankle and they decided to give us a walkover, leaving us with a THIRD placing for Hydra!
Cheers, guys!

Hydra Futsal team fell short tonight of achieving a Medal-bound spot, but played with a perservering heart...as always <3
To the Men's team, definitely very unfortunate after seeing a window of opportunity of possibly achieving Pole position... Nevertheless, a team of strong potential for the future of Hydra and IPL (IMU Premier League if it exists).
To the Women's team, thank you 23 TM for coming after such a short notice and doing the best out there! Hope the time was well spent, and hopefully you had fun experience. The sacrifice was very much appreciated.
Kenduri, Barbeque, and Note-staring hopefully did understand the situation we were in, I hope. :)

Male: Dharmaraj Selvadorai (El Capitan), Adrian Chew, Rajiv Kurup, Ravi, Khai Jack, Navin Naidu, Leong Keen Wai, Preman Silvaraju, Yuxiang Yow, Brian Phuah.
Female: Archana Divi (Le Capitaine), Amelia Yeoh, Maisarah Amran, Pui Mun, Carmen Wong.

To all my touch rugby players, I'm really proud of you guys. Thanks for showing the "never give up" spirit, In fact, I find it a compliment when one of the top 2 teams said they were lucky and other teams said they were afraid to play us. Well, sometimes, in games you need luck. And luck wasn't on our side today. Well, only for the semi's.
Nothing is worth more than the bronze you guys earned today, than that elusive gold. Those jerseys, be your in memories being in this team. =)
Dharmaraj, you're the MVP. =)
I hope everyone had fun training and playing. To Adam who appeared out of nowhere today, thanks!
Thanks for all the mental support from the people in this group as well.
To my team, Heng Chuan, Dharma, Yusri, Keen Wai, Mohd. Ikmal, Amir Nazri, Wei Peng, and my girls, Carmen Wong, Joanne Chiew and Maisarah Amran, I could not have asked for a better team. =)

Congratulations to Hydra Touch Rugby team 2011!
Much appreciation to the Captain Adrian Chew and team members (Keen Wai, Joanne Chiew, Heng Chuan, Dharmaraj, Wei Peng, Iqmal, Amir Nazri, Carmen Wong, Maisarah Amran).
A Bronze 3rd placing is in the bag in a way like how Star War episode III: Revenge of the Sith ended and how Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen started. It was a good and deserving victory. All the sweaty training and hard work paid off, though the chance of being in Final was actually very close.
Good job, there's still much more in the [Hydra] tank... this is just the beginning!
and Touch Rugby Captain- Adrian Chew deserves a pat, applause, and a Hail Hydra salute (with precise arm movements and leg positions) for all his determined efforts to bring the team together and always motivating the team along with Hot & Spicy Warmups pre-training and pre-match...
Thank you all 23 much...

To our Volleyball team (Male and Female)
I know this might be a lil' late...
(the staff at Hydra Sportcentre all went on leave due to Raya and all, sigh)
But they're back and so they can now report and wishport,
Tonight and tomorrow night would be the Volleyball semi-finals for both our teams.
Tonight the Men's team would be playing at 10pm or earlier.
The Women's team is still pending on the schedules, but it is sure to be tomorrow night.
Before that, a deserving shoutout must go to all the hardworking players and cheerers (dual identities) for both team:
Women's team:
Ng Shi Hui
Ang Jia Hui
Lu Luan Mee
Jessie Tan
Melissa Siah
Sze Ling
Yean May
Amelia Yeoh
Yin Jie Hor (Yinny)
Men's team:
Jonathan Easaw
Jun Teh
Adam Tay
Keen Wai
Yu Chuan
Yee Hsuen
Ern Wei
Alexander Yu the Great (debatable)
These are the exciting stages, and probably considered critical in our veins... so do come to support them at the respective days and time... try your best to be there if you can.
All the best to them, and we will support you people to the end no matter what happens.

Male (yesterday) and Female (today) Volleyball team both won their first match of their Volleyball Competition!
Good job!!!
And both teams have one more game remaining for the Group stages this week...
Do be there to support them if you can, but if you can't, support them in your visceral hearts from home/library/virtual-locations!
All the best to our Volleyball team-

Hydraians,
Due to the new med intake, I have to set another training during raya break. It will be on Thursday.
Please be there both guys and girls.
The 12 selected players, please be at the training.
And also, I will need new intake players to be there as well.
It's very hard for me if I want to pick everyone but not everyone is there as now we have more than 12 players.

There will be touch rugby training on 24/8 (Wednesday).
We will most likely be going to the field, so get ready your boots or get ready to wash your sports shoes.
Pray it doesn't rain as well.
Possibly either in the morning or evening.
Anyone else interested, do come and join or at least just come to check it out. =)
